Lake Hamilton, a designated census place in Garland County, Arkansas, is an integral part of the Hot Springs Metropolitan Statistical Area. With a population of 2,135 recorded at the 2010 census, it derives its name from the man-made lake, Lake Hamilton, situated in the area.
Positioned in southern Garland County at coordinates 34°25′41″N, 93°5′17″W (34.428101, -93.088035), Lake Hamilton encompasses both the southern side of Lake Hamilton and two substantial islands within the lake. To the north, across the lake, lies the city of Hot Springs. The census-designated place spans a total area of 3.8 square miles (9.9 km²), comprising 1.9 square miles (5.0 km²) of land and 1.9 square miles (4.9 km²), or 49.48%, as water, according to the United States Census Bureau.
Arkansas State Highway 7 traverses Lake Hamilton, utilizing bridges to connect the two islands. Heading north, Highway 7 leads to the center of Hot Springs, covering a distance of 7 miles (11 km), while heading south, it extends 28 miles (45 km) to Arkadelphia.
Lake Hamilton falls within the Lakeside School District, with Lakeside High School serving as the comprehensive high school for the district. Notably, it is not part of the Lake Hamilton School District.
